HEF has the following projects at Himalaya Public School under way:

1.     “Educate One More Child” / Scholarship for Girls Program
   

HEF currently sponsors the education of 20 children at the Himalaya Public School.  60% of these are girls to help increase female literacy in the region. Donors can sponsor a child for one or more years of education through HEF. Click here to read the details of the program, how it works and how you can get involved.

1.     Solar Hot Water System for the school  hostel
   

We are partnering with a very well established local NGO called Avani to install solar hot water systems for providing hot water for bathing needs of the kids in the hostels.

1.     Global awareness for teachers and students
   

As part of global cultural education, an HEF volunteer from the US recently spent one month at the school living with the children and the teachers and teaching yoga, modern dance and English. In the words of the school principal “this was a life-changing experience for all teachers and students alike”. See pictures of her visit to the school here.

We are also looking to fund and start the following projects:

1.     A school library
   

2.     A computer lab
   

3.     A science lab
   

4.     Community Service program
